Our Latest Examples of Excellence Marshall students recognized nationally for their excellence in 2012Jose Lopez has been named a National Hispanic Scholar, and Eleanor Mudica has been named a National Merit Semi-Finalist. Based on the PSAT Eleanor is in the top 1% of all high school students and the only PUSD student to receive this honor.

Marshall Senior writes excellent essayWe are proud to announce that Marshall Senior Victor Loza recently placed 3rd in LA YOUTH magazine's essay contest!
His winning essay will be published in the September print issue and on the LA YOUTH website. Congratulations Victor and Go Eagles!
Marshall has the "Most Valuable Students"Recently the Pasadena Elks Club held their "Most Valuable Student" Awards. Of the 6 finalists from the Pasadena area, 4 are from Marshall!
 This award is presented to the top 3 male and top 3 female seniors in the Pasadena area. Marshall took 4 of the 6 top prizes: Ariel Wood (1st place, $1500), Taylor Lichfield (2nd place, $1000), Marilyn Travis (3rd place, $500), and Preston Mills (3rd place, $500). Congratulations to all the Most Valuable Students, and Go Eagles! Excellence by Example Jacob Tragarz didn’t take the easy route when it came to his mitzvah project — he went big. The 12-year-old student decided to raise awareness about the suffering and violence in Darfur by organizing an assembly for nearly 700 of his peers at Marshall Fundamental High School...Read the whole story at the Jewish Journal. Excellent job Jacob! 2011 Marching Band & Color Guard Win! Marshall Marching Band and Color Guard left the 29th Annual Field Competition at Granada Hills High School on Saturday 11/12/11 with not one, not two, but THREE trophies. The Marching Band and Percussion both took first place, while the Color Guard grabbed the second place trophy. What a show it was! Go Eagles! Marshall Voted "Reader Recommended" for Pasadena's Best High School Pasadena Weekly Readers Recommend Marshall Fundamental! (click here for the article; we're under "The way it's always been") Nordstrom Scholarship awarded to Marshall Student Marshall's Marilyn Travis has received a $10,000 scholarship from Nordstrom. This prestigious honor is awarded to only 80 students nationwide, based on the student's academic achievement, community involvement, teacher recommendations, and a personal interview. Pictured here with her father Raymond and Nordstrom representative Rodney Friend, you can see that Marilyn is not the only member of her family to be pleased with her accomplishments.
